Riyadh Expo 2030

On 28 November 2023, during the 173rd General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Saudi Arabia was chosen as the host country for World Expo 2030. The city of Riyadh will be the epicenter of this global event, slated to take place from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031.The Theme:

Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow:The chosen theme, “The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow,” reflects Saudi Arabia’s dedication to fostering global collaboration towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Riyadh aims to utilize Expo 2030 as a platform for accelerating progress by focusing on three inclusive sub-themes:1. A Different Tomorrow: This sub-theme emphasizes the role of science, innovation, and cutting-edge technologies in creating sustainable communities that cater to fundamental human needs while being environmentally conscious.2. Climate Action: In light of the escalating impacts of climate change, Expo 2030 will spotlight creative solutions aimed at enhancing security, driving development, and preserving the planet for future generations.

3. Prosperity for All: A prosperous future must prioritize inclusivity, ensuring that the voices, needs, and contributions of all countries and communities are recognized and integrated into the global agenda.

The Site: A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation:

The Expo site, envisioned as a futuristic city surrounding an ancient valley (wadi), will embody Riyadh’s historical roots as both an “oasis” and a “garden.” Spanning 600 hectares, the accessible site is designed to host immersive experiences for over 28 million visitors. Each participating country will have its own pavilion, showcasing its unique culture, innovations, and contributions to the global community.

Strategically located just one metro stop away from the new King Salman International Airport, Expo 2030 Riyadh will be easily accessible to visitors from around the world. The site’s layout aims to empower participants by providing a conducive environment for networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.

A Global Gathering of Unprecedented Scale:

Expo 2030 Riyadh is poised to set records with 197 Participating Countries and 29 International Organizations confirmed to take part. The event will feature an enabling governance framework that ensures seamless construction and operations, facilitating a smooth and enriching experience for all attendees.
