Inscribed in 2016 as a mixed serial property, the Ahwar of Southern Iraq, also known as the Iraqi Marshlands, is made of up seven component- three archaeological and four wetland marsh areas, where the Madan, or Marsh Arabs, reside. They often build impressive mudhif houses and mashuf (canoe) from the reeds and adobe of the marshes as a means of transportation.

تم إدراج محمية أهوار جنوب العراق سنة 2016 ضمن الممتلكات المسلسلة المختلطة، وتُعرف أيضًا باسم الأهوار العراقية، وهي مكونة من سبعة مكوّنات من ثلاثة مناطق أثريّة وأربع مستنقعات في مناطق رطبة، حيث يقطن فيها المعدان عرب الأهوار. وهم غالباً ما يبنون منازل طينية مثيرة للإعجاب “المضيف” و “مشحوفف” (زورق) من القصب وطوب المستنقعات كوسيلة.
