(2009) Nubian women in north Sudan plaster their houses in a ceremonial atmosphere. The process starts with the preparation and fermentation of the plastering mixture. Friends and neighbors help while singing and making Henna tattoos similar to those decorations on their houses.
Mud or Earth structures are the traditional building materials and techniques in all countries around the Great African Sahara.. It stills survives across the regions, despite the decline numbers of technicians, Building Masters and Tradesmen.. There is a great epistemic gap in this building art, as no scientific or engineering input had be offered to elevate the practice and improve the applications.. Shy attempts are coming from as far as Americas, where such types became popular for environmental and emotional retreat..
